Father Marty was a 1987 NCAA DII national champion in wrestling for NDSU as a freshman at 167 pounds before going on to win the 1991 NCAA D1 national championship for Minnesota at 177 pounds … Marty was a four-time All-American and was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2018 … Marty was the top assistant coach for Minnesota, coaching current Oklahoma head coach Roger Kish ... Marty’s brother and Mannix’s uncle John was a four-time All-American for NDSU from 1983-86, before going on to compete for Team USA at the Olympics in 1988 (7th), as well as the World Games in 1990 (5th) and 1991 (7th) … John Morgan was a 2003 inductee into the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame.
