Honoring the Courage of SSgt. Andrew Harvell & Capt. Matthew Roland

As we pause this Veterans Day to remember those who answered the call of service, the OU Wrestling family wishes to pay tribute to all service members and two extraordinary warriors: Staff Sergeant Andrew W. Harvell and Captain Matthew D. Roland both of the U.S. Air Force Special Tactics community who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

On this Veterans Day, we remember and honor SSgt Andrew Harvell and Capt. Matthew Roland not merely for their service, but for who they were: leaders, teammates, brothers in arms who exemplified excellence in the hardest of arenas. As members of the OU Wrestling community whether athlete, coach, alumnus, or fan let us carry forward their legacy. Let us serve with humility, lead with integrity, and support one another as they once supported their teams in the most demanding of circumstances. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is not free and that the values we strive for on the mat and in life are worth the cost. Today, and every day, we honor them. We remember them. We will not forget.
